Relaxing First Day of the Year

So here I am, blogging on the first day of the year 2012 under the vast canopy of the resort clubhouse - I wonder what I'm going to do for the rest of this, actually, rather special day, 1st January.

Chances are, not a lot.

Most days in this holiday of mine in a relaxing resort at Johor run like this: up at 10am, a relaxing breakfast at 11, go to the clubhouse pool and lie under the sun until 2, another relaxing hour of lunch till 4, then since it's so hot outside we may as well sit at the clubhouse to surf online, or nap, till 5. Then it's time for a movie - downloaded online - for 2 hours. Now the boys get hungry and it's time to make dinner, which we usually take 2 hours at least. By 9pm the day is drawing to a close, but well, since it's too early to sleep anyway why not watch another movie? And so another movie it was. By midnight it'd be time to crash in.

Sometimes we might go shopping, which is a 20-minute drive out of the rural forest, so are all those restaurants out there. Chances are we won't be going today when we really didn't have anything to buy.

Sounds too decadent? Indeed. There is no better way to waste time than holidays like these, which makes me wonder: what if I'm not spending this as a week-long holiday but a lifetime living like this.

A city folk such as me would probably get mad soon, without the huzz n buzz of town living.

Can I possibly take that?
